Vegetable Idlies

Ingredients: 

  1. 2 cups - rice
  2. ¼ cup - urad dal
  3. ¼ cup - chana dal
  4. 1 - coconut,potato,carrot,onion - sliced
  5. 4 - green chillies
  6. 50 g -. shelled green peas
  7. 25 g - cabbage
  8. 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  9. 2 tbsp - finely grated coconut
  10. ½” piece - ginger
  11. salt to taste

Preparation   :

  1. Steam cook all the vegetables and crush them.
  2. Soak dals and rice in water for about 6 hours.
  3. Extract thick juice from coconut.
  4. Grind rice, dals and ginger to a paste along with chillies.
  5. Mix all the vegetables, coconut, coriander leaves, onion, salt and enough coconut milk to form a thick batter.
  6. Set aside for 1 hour and then steam in idly plates.
