Karivepaku Powder

  1. Corainder seeds (Dhania) 1 1/2 cups
  2. Chana Dal 1 cup
  3. Urad Dal 1 cup
  4. Dry Red Chilli 8-10 (or as per taste)
  5. Til (Sesame seeds) 1/2 cup (optional)
  6. Dry Coconut 1 cup (optional for newly delivered women)
  7. Pepper corns (Miriyalu) 1 tsp
  8. Curry leaves few sprigs (the more the merrier)
  9. Garlic 2-3 cloves (Optional - Didn't use in this recipe)
  10. Salt
Method Of Preparation -
  1. Dry Roast Coriander seeds, Til, Dry Coconut powder, pepper corns, Chana dal, Urad dal separately until they brown a little.
  2. Also roast Curry leaves and Red chillies separately till they change color.
  3. On cooling, Grind all of them with Garlic and salt to a coarse powder.
  4. Store in an air tight container.
